Elon Musk argues with ZDF Frontal 21 ELON MUSK ARGUES

Tesla owner Elon Musk and ZDF are arguing on a documentation by Frontal 21 magazine about the possibly critical water consumption of the Gigafactory in Grünheide in Brandenburg.

Musk wrote on Twitter that ZDF Info should be ashamed: "Wow, shame on ZDF Info!" He respond to a tweet.

Does Tesla use too much water in Brandenburg?

To the criticism that followed, Musk replied in a tweet that some things had to be clarified: This is the peak consumption that is not reached every day. Tesla later reduced the maximum water consumption to around 1.4 million cubic meters per year.

Musk's tweet is shown translated in the ZDF report, but not fully reproduced. This is one of the criticisms of the Tasmanian blog . The author of the ZDF program,  told  that the second part of the tweet was not relevant.

The head of the responsible water association Strausberg-Erkner, André Bähler, had told Frontal 21: "The drinking water supply is sacrificed on the table of gifts of economic policy." The production could lead to restrictions.

ZDF wants to interview Musk

Heise told Deutschlandfunk that she preferred to speak to someone from Tesla for her report, but inquiries had not been answered. She doesn't feel ashamed. Frontal 21 invited Musk to an interview on Twitter to discuss the problems: "We would be happy to interview you! And give you the chance to explain why the Gigafactory Berlin is so environmentally friendly."
